Enhanced Online Security

Your privacy is important to us.  At Pan Pacific Bank, we are dedicated to providing you with responsive and personalized service.   We understand that our customers furnish sensitive information to the Bank in the course of daily business; we are committed to respect the privacy of our customers and to safeguard sensitive information that has been entrusted to us.

Our Website – Your Privacy

Visitors to this bank Website remain anonymous.  We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site.  We may use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:

  • Date and time our site was accessed
  • IP address (a numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet)
  • Web browser used
  • City, State, and Country

The Bank uses this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on our site.  Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via E-mail.  This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender’s request.  It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations.

Some areas of our Website may use a “cookie” temporarily stored in the visitor’s computer memory to allow the web server to log the pages you use within the site and to know if you have visited our site before.

Online Enhanced Security

Our Internet Banking System brings together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for the Bank and for you, our customer.  It features a multi-factor authentication entry, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption, and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the incoming and outgoing of service traffic.

Multi-Factor Authentication

In order to greatly increase online security and help prevent identity theft, Pan Pacific Bank has instituted a multi-layered security feature as part of its online banking security.  It features password-controlled system entry and a VeriSign-issued Digital ID for the Bank’s server.

Secure Access & Verifying User Authenticity

To begin a session with the Bank’s server, the user must key in an Access ID and a password.  Our system, the Internet Banking System, uses a “3 strikes and you’re out” lock-out mechanism to deter users from repeated login attempts.  After three unsuccessful log in attempts, the system locks the user out, requiring a phone call to the Bank to reset the password before re-entry into the system.  Upon successful login, the Digital ID from VeriSign, the experts in digital identification certificates, authenticates the user’s identity and establishes a secure session with that visitor.

First Time User

During the enrollment process, as a first time user you will be asked to enter your 10 digit account number and the last four digits of your tax identification number.  You will then be required to change your Access ID and password.  Once this step is completed, a random picture will be presented and a request to enter a pass phrase.  This picture and pass phrase will be provided each time you log on and assist you in identifying that you have entered the correct website.  (Remember:  If the authentication image and pass phrase do not match, do not enter your password.)

You will be requested to provide answers to 3 challenge questions.  This will assist us in identifying you in the event that you are utilizing a “public” computer or you have forgotten your password.

You will then be asked if you would like to register the personal computer you are currently using or if you are at a “public” computer.   Only register ‘trusted’ computers such as your home computer.
That’s It.  The next time you log in, Pan Pacific Bank’s online banking security will recognize you and display your private image & pass phrase.

Your Responsibility

We have taken precautions to offer you an Online Banking system that is protected; however, it is your responsibility to keep your online password, Access ID, account numbers, and personal identification information confidential.

  • Do not reveal your password to anyone and do not write it down.
  • Change your password regularly.
  • Do not allow your browser to automatically save your password.
  • Do not leave your computer unattended during a session.
  • Sign off when you are finished with the session.

For your protection, we recommend that you do not share your online banking password, or give out your password by email or phone.  “Phishing” is a term for hoax emails that look like they are coming from a trusted institution, like your bank, to try to get you to send sensitive information such as a password.  Pan Pacific Bank will NEVER ask for your online banking password, even if there is a need to re-set your account.

If you have any questions, please contact us @ 510-809-8888.
